From Denny: This is a delightful piece that sure must have taken some time to play with until the color and design was well distributed for visual weight. It's like playing a gigantic game of "Where's Waldo?" :)

A celebration of the 2000th work of art being added to the Visual Mashups pool, and the hearts and minds of 200 Visual Mashup artists!

This image is a processed blend of some of the most "interesting" numerals 2 on flickr, composed with some of the best images of the number 2 in modern art, composed with images from the Visual Mashups pool that, while entirely abstract, had the same basic form as the number 2. To see the resulting blend of "twos" used as the source art for this mosaic, click here: Too Many Twos

The blended Twos were then converted to a mosaic using almost every single one of the first TWO THOUSAND images added to the Visual Mashups pool.

Best Super Bowl Ads: Motorola Xoom Empower the People

From Denny: A sweet love story in a bland all-are-alike and how-dare-you-stand-out-and-be-different work atmosphere. Reminds me of the old IBM where everyone had to wear the exact same navy blue suit. They looked like FBI clones without the bulging guns. But I digress... :) This Orwellian styled ad promotes Motorola's Xoom tablet. Pretty clever and a joy to watch.

Some ranked this ad in the Worst Super Bowl Ads. It's probably too close to Valentine's Day and they are grumpy because they are bad with women. Who wants to see a geek score with outdated technology when you are just as lame? :)

From Denny: Detroit and Eminem - inseparable for Detroit is his hometown. This ad was a huge hit for how it promoted a city that has suffered hard economic times and is on its way back. Lots of heart here. Oh, yeah, and Chrysler isn't doing so bad now a year later after falling on hard times itself as a once premier car maker. Glad to see both on the rise!

Dennys Funny Quotes: Funny Mardi Gras Quotes, Who Dat Rocking Saints Songs - Congrats go to the Packers who won this year's Super Bowl! Let the partying begin!

Here is last year's winner, the New Orleans Saints. What a huge surprise it was to win the Super Bowl, the first for this beaten down team. Get a grin at the partying in the French Quarter and the different rock songs for the team.

The Packers have their Cheesehead song and the Saints have their Who Dat?! song. For my second language friends: Who Dat = Who is that?

Right after Hurricane Katrina, all in a half a million strong flurry, half of New Orleans moved to my town of Baton Rouge, the state's capital, overwhelming us and our resources. We soon adjusted after a few months and assimilated everyone. They still can't drive. :)

All we heard in the grocery stores and the shopping malls was the "Who dat?" phrase. We soon started calling New Orleans people The Who Dats and the name stuck with New Orleans wearing it like a badge of pride. :) Winning the Super Bowl was just what New Orleans needed to make them feel really good. There is still a lot of celebrating going on - but then that's the New Orleans Who Dat Nation!

From Denny: Uh, oh, I'm guilty of one of my favorite pleasures. Yes, I've been cavorting around in the deep dark wallpaper archives of Smashing Magazine. Oh, the sins of a woman! :) Here for your pleasure too - since I might as well make myself useful on the web - are my favorites from the past two years of February choices. This only took about three hours to research and load so knock yourselves out and fall over like a purring cat from too much petting.
